Thanks for your advice. Also, disconnect all the external peripherals before updating dell n5050 touchpad BIOS. Just typing this reply the cursor jumped twice so I have to delete and redo. If the issue still persists, update the BIOS: I have done a virus scan with zero results and I have dekl downloaded drivers for the mousepad and bios. After a while Dell n5050 touchpad turned it on again without the adapter and it worked properly.
The issue seems to be with the touchpad driver. The either do not dell n5050 touchpad movement or jump erratically around the screen. I tried reinstalling the driver again and system restore but nothing worked. Dell touchpad on Inspiron N I have to re-install the driver to get it to work again.
